HAG Commodities is committed to delivering verified, export-grade quality on every shipment. We welcome third-party inspection and provide all required documentation for smooth customs clearance.
Every HAG shipment is dispatched with a complete documentation set. Below is what each document is and why it matters for customs clearance and bank compliance.
Issued by Pakistan's Department of Plant Protection, this certificate confirms the rice is free from pests, diseases, and harmful organisms. It is mandatory for customs clearance in almost every destination country. Without it, your shipment will be held at port. HAG arranges this document for every consignment as standard.
Issued by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) or the Karachi Chamber of Commerce, the COO certifies that the rice was grown and processed in Pakistan. Customs authorities use it to determine applicable duty rates. For buyers in countries with preferential trade agreements with Pakistan, the COO can unlock lower import tariffs.
Rice is fumigated with methyl bromide or phosphine before container stuffing to eliminate any insects or stored-product pests. The fumigation certificate is issued by a licensed fumigation company and is required by many African and Middle Eastern countries as a mandatory import condition. It protects buyers from infestation-related losses in storage.
This document certifies the rice variety, grade, moisture content, broken grain percentage, and net weight loaded into the container. It is issued by a licensed surveyor at loading. Buyers use it to verify that the shipment matches the purchase contract specifications and to make insurance claims if discrepancies are found on arrival.
Available on request, the Halal Certificate is issued by a recognised Islamic certification body in Pakistan. It confirms that the product and processing comply with Halal requirements. This document is commonly required by importers serving Muslim-majority markets in Africa and the Middle East, particularly for rice sold at retail level.
HAG Commodities is a registered member of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) — the official trade body that regulates and supports Pakistan's rice export industry. REAP membership confirms we are a licensed, compliant rice exporter operating within Pakistan's official export framework.
We fully accept pre-shipment inspection by SGS, Intertek, or Bureau Veritas at the buyer's arrangement. Inspectors can access the warehouse or mill during loading. Buyers who require inspection should inform us at the proforma stage so we can coordinate access promptly.
Quality at HAG Commodities is not a single checkpoint — it is a process that runs from mill selection through to container sealing.
Mill Selection: We procure only from mills that meet our baseline requirements for milling equipment, hygiene standards, and sorting capacity. Mills are assessed before we place any order with them.
Pre-Milling Check: Raw paddy is inspected for moisture, variety authenticity, and contamination before milling begins. Off-spec batches are rejected at this stage.
Post-Milling Sampling: Milled rice samples are drawn and tested for broken grain percentage, moisture content (target 12-13%), foreign matter, and grain length. Samples that fail specification are remilled or rejected.
Fumigation and Sealing: Bagged rice is fumigated in the warehouse or inside the container before door sealing. Licensed fumigation contractors issue the certificate.
Document Dispatch: Full shipping documents are emailed to the buyer within 3-5 working days of vessel departure, with originals sent by DHL or FedEx as required for LC presentation.
Halal certificates are available on request. Buyers who require one should specify this at the proforma stage. There may be a small additional cost depending on the certifying body required by the destination country's import authority.
Yes. You are welcome to appoint SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas, or any other internationally recognised inspection company. We will coordinate warehouse or mill access and assist the inspectors during their visit at no additional charge.
We target 12-13% moisture content for all rice varieties. This is the internationally accepted safe range for long-term storage and ocean shipping. Moisture levels are verified by the quality surveyor at the time of loading and stated on the Quality Certificate.
Scanned copies of all documents are emailed within 3-5 working days of vessel departure. Original documents are dispatched by courier within 5-7 working days, or sooner if needed for LC presentation at your bank.
