Rice Supply to Benin

Benin is a West African country with a population of approximately 13 million. The Port of Cotonou is one of West Africa’s most important commercial ports, serving not only Benin but also acting as a major transit hub for landlocked countries including Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali. Rice is a key food commodity imported through Cotonou for both domestic consumption and regional re-export.
